Slavery: Past and present reflections

When we are thinking of slavery, we think about the days when there was Negro trade In America. But there still is slavery, even here in Denmark. Slavery today can for instance be any form of hard labour, prostitution, like trafficking and other bad industries.

I think that everyone has the right to decide over our own lives.

You can say the difference from slavery back then still today is huge, but it can also be a very little difference. Back then it was all about having the slaves to work for you, often one race working for another. Now the working-part is still the same, but it has changed from being race specific to be gender.

I think slavery is a terrible thing, but I can understand that they had the urge to be dominant and show who rules back then. It was like a part of their lives that time, having to prove who is determined and had the power. But today, when we hear that some people have been captured, raped and taken as slaves, we think it is wrong, I also think it is terrible, and I do not think that this can be going on in our modern society. We should be able to feel safe anywhere in the world, but we can not, unfortunately!
