'The White Nigger': en novelle om identitet

Once upon a time in Africa, there was a black African mother who was named Mukolam, she lived in Togo and was 23 years old. A day she went to the market in the capital, Lomé. In Lomé she met a very sweet black man from France, who was named, Fabian. After they have talked for a while, Fabian asked Mukolam about she wants to came home to him. Mukolam said “Yes.” And when the night came, Fabian gave Mukolam a sleeping pill, and after that he raped her. Mukolam couldn’t remember was happened that night, so after 9 months, she gave birth to a wonderful boy, but there was some strangely about him. He was not black, he was a white boy. But Mukolam, was still the happiest woman in the world that day. Mukolam called her white boy, Yakubu. Yakubu grow up, and he didn’t know that he was different, but when he starts in school, there was a group of children who called Yakubu, The White Nigger. Yakubu could easy be angry, and when he heard that he went over to the group and said. “You should don’t talk to me like that!” But the leader of the group, Obafemi, was not so smart so he said. “Why gay? It is because you are not black?” Yakubu, couldn’t control himself after he heard that, so he hit Obafemi right in the face, and kick him in the balls. After that day Yakubu never came back to the school. And after he had going home for a couple of days, he decided to begin playing football. He played with him self in one and a half year, and he got talent, so he asked his mother Mukolam. “Dear mother, instead of school, can I so play in a football club?” Mukolam, said. “Yes, but if you should play in a club, you need to show up to every training, don’t make any problems and you must train hard, at home and on the field!” Yakubu, was the happiest boy in the world that day.
