According to Kipling in his poem that refers to the white colonialism (British and Americans) is a burden that the white race has to help the non-white races.

Kipling means that the white man’s burden is a difficult task about the burden that has fallen on the white men when they come to another land that has black men.

Kipling explains in his poem that the burden of the white men relates to help and educate blacks the civilized behavior, and teach them religiously.

B) Summarise the two poems in your own words, comment on the tone and compare them to the original.

Kipling’s poem was considered provocative even by some of his contemporaries, and almost immediately parodies appeared. On the internet you can find some of these for further studies. Look up Henri Labouchere’s” The Brown Man’s Burden (1899) and Ernest Crosby’s” The Real White Man’s Burden” (1902). Kipling is NOT ironic or trying to be funny! The two other poems, however, are!
