In recent years retailing has changed. Now big spenders are able to get preferential treatment like jumping check-out queues, get special discounts, free deliveries, some even a gold card. Big spenders will now immediately be offered a superior service. Of course all low spenders will find it unjust to them that they will have to wait in the queues, pay for deliveries the next day and get no discounts. All big spenders will love this new trend. They gain everything. As a store it is good because they can give their big spenders a superior service. Maybe even gain more customers if the customers see the positive effect of buying more means special treatment. But why give some special treatment based on how much money they spend because we are all paying for the goods. When we all pay the same service standard should be offered. Special treatment leads to differential treatment.
The internet have opened many possibilities, in stead of going to the stores and find your goods you can go online on the internet and order a good, and receive it to your front door. Even payment is done online. The negative side is that you do not have the possibility to try, feel or even taste the good before you buy it you only have a picture to go out from. The store gains automatically stockholding. When payment is registered the good is taken out of the stock. When a store is making business on the internet it has the opportunity to lower its costs because it does not need a big room or shop location which the customer can visit. All a store needs is a stock.
