Mobile phones are one of the most used and important forms of technology because mobile phones are an easy way to get in contact with friends, family and colleagues. Even though mobile phones are popular nowadays they also have some disadvantages. In “Mobile Mania” a lot of opinions about disadvantages are stated. In the following I will comment on these statements.
I had no idea that mobile phones are dangerous and can damage the brain as mentioned in one of the statements. A lot of my friends use their mobile phones a lot so if the statement is true some of my friends and many people have or will get brain damages! Hopefully it is not as bad as mentioned and hopefully new more “healthy” phones will be made in the future. I don’t have a smart or fancy phone myself. I don’t really text that much – only if it is necessary so it is not a big deal for me.
I find the statement about mobile phones distracting people in the traffic true. We hear it all the time in the news and I think this is properly the biggest problem with mobile phones. Actually, some of my friends were involved in a car crash caused by mobile phones. This happened when I lived in Vietnam and it happens almost every day. The problem with car crashes caused by mobile phones in Vietnam happen so often that it won’t even be noticed in the newspapers and the government doesn’t seem to do a lot about it. It is not only a problem when driving, also when walking or riding a bike.
