Juno: filmresumé

The movie Juno is a story about a girl named Juno Macguff, who lives in a little city in America with her dad named Mac and his girlfriend Bren, and Bren’s daughter. Juno is 16 years old, she discovers, that she is pregnant with a boy named Paulie Bleeker. At first Juno want to get an abortion, but she changes her minds and decides to look after a couple who wants to adopt her child. She looks in the news paper and finds a couple, who she feels will provide a suitable home for a child. She also decides to tell her dad that she is pregnant and that she has found a home for the baby. Juno’s dad and her stepmother do not get angry about that she is pregnant, they also offer her their support. Along with Mac, Juno meets the couple, Mark and Vanessa Loring in their expensive home.

Vanessa, while grateful, is somewhat anxious that Juno may change her mind, and their initial interactions are uneasy. However, Juno and Leah happen to see Vanessa in a shopping mall being completely at ease with a child, and Juno encourages Vanessa to talk to her baby in the womb, where it obligingly kicks for her. On the other hand, Juno more easily forms a friendship with Mark, with whom she shares tastes in punk rock and horror films. Mark, who has set aside his rock band youth (now confined to memorabilia displayed in the one room of the house allowed him by Vanessa), works at home composing commercial jingles. Juno hangs out with Mark a few times when visiting the house, ignoring a warning from Bren that she should not spend time alone with a married man.
