Juno is a 16 year old high school Junior who lives and goes to school in Minnesota. After she had sex with her best friend named Paulie Bleeker in a chair, she gets pregnant. Since Paulie leaves all the decisions regarding the baby to Juno, she decides to go to the abortion clinic to get an abortion, but quickly decides to give her unborn child to adoptive parents instead. When she gets home she tells her father and stepmother what happened between herself and Paulie. At first, her father gets mad, but after he cools down, he decides to go with her, to visit the adoptive parents. Juno becomes good friends with Mark who is going to be the adoptive father of her child. After a while, Mark tells her that he isn’t ready to be a father and is getting divorced. This leaves Juno with a difficult choice, but in the end she decides to give her child to the adoptive mother named Vanessa, who wanted a baby so bad.
