The legendary football player Cristiano Ronaldo is called: “the best football player in the world’s history.” Cristiano was born 5. February 1985, in Funchal, on a little island west from Portugal, called Madeira. His full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro.
Since he was a little kid, he dreamed of becoming a famous football player. Everybody in his childhood was surprised of how good he played.
At the age of eight years, he played on the amateur team Andorinha, a couple of years later he played with the team Nacional and in the year 1997, he went on a three-day training stay with Sporting CP, where he later signed a contract to stay and play for the team.
In the year 2001, the talent full young Cristiano Ronaldo got discovered of liverpools manager, Gerard Houllier. Gerard thought that he was such a good player, so he wanted him to come and play on the team. That year Cristiano only where 16 years, so Gerard believed that he was too young and should wait a couple of years longer.
In the summer 2003, Ronaldo got really famous. The player waited too come at the team Liverpool, but at the same time he attracted attention of the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, when Sporting CP defeated Manu in a match. Ronaldo impressed the players of Manu, who urged Ferguson to sign him to the club. He got the big honor to got the shirt number 7, that earlier where carried of great players.
