Spider

I met Spider at a foodstand next to a museum in Dublin. Just when I got my hotdog and was about to pay, a stranger appeared and insisted to pay for it. He was a real gentleman. I had never tried anything like this before. I am not the type of woman, guys normally hit on. I was surprised and didn't know how to act in front of this crowd, so to speak. I did my best to cover up my red cheeks in my sleeve, while slowly backing a way, in a position like I was bowing ­ Thank you, you really didn't have to do this. I would have guessed that this episode had had it's end, but no. There was more to it. My doorbell rang later that day in my apartment. Normally when there's someone at the door I look through the peephole, but this time I didn't. I don't know why. I was pretty exhausted, because I had been working 12 hours last night. As I went to reach the doorknob, a man knocked on the door 3 times. I shuddered. I opened the door, and to my surprise the man from earlier pointed a gun right between my eyes. Out of a sudden, he ran into my livingroom and told me to close and lock the door. I did what he told me. To be honest, I wasn't really afraid nor scared of him. He went looking for all my windows to shut the curtains down, as he didn't want anybody to see him. Though I had never tried this before, I felt this calmness as I had everything under control. I felt that I knew exactly what to do. A few hours went by, and I was asked to go to the nearest grocery store and buy a few things. I could have ran a to the policeoffice and told them all about it, but instead I did exactly what he said. When I got back home, he was sitting in a chair going through my magazines. As the clock passed 9 pm, I was starting to wonder what his deal was with all this. So I asked him, and he replied ­ I need a place to crash for the night, the police are looking all over for me. I ran away from home 3 months ago, and someone gave the police a clue about where I am. It had been a hard and weird day, so even though there was a stranger with a gun in my apartment all I wanted to do, was to get some rest. So I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and went looking for him. No signs of him left, except this note on my coffeetable with a few pounds on top of it. He thanked me for letting him stay overnight and that I didn't made a big deal out of it. He was sorry that he had to threaten me with a gun, but this was what he had to do. The money was all he had left and he wanted me to have them.
