I was surfing the net when suddenly it was there. My dream job. I grabbed my phone and called the number that was written in the advertisement. The advertisement was for a job in Australia. I had never been to Australia before, but I have always wanted to go there.
The job was as a diving instructor and nature protector in the northern part of Great Barrier Reef. I was so excited. I had read so much about Great Barrier Reef and had always wanted to go there since my first dive in Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. I completely love diving so that was also a reason for it being my dream job. I am also very interested in corrals and I am aware of the problems with the corrals in Great Barrier Reef. The corrals are dying because of pollution and tourists, who don’t respect nature. I am very eager to end this problem. I pursued the man who offered the job to give me a chance for an interview despite my young age.
The next few days I spent researching Great Barrier Reef and how to most efficiently protect corrals. I was very nervous the day up to my interview but not too nervous to completely forget about what I have studied. I had an extremely good feeling after the interview. I felt it had gone well. I could answer each question they presented. I waited anxiously for nearly two hours until they had interviewed everybody. They called my name and I began to sweat from excitement. I got it. My dream job! I jumped up and around with happiness. I can’t describe how ecstatic I was. They said I was going down there next summer. They had already rented a flat for me and everything. I was so delighted. I couldn’t wait to tell my mom and dad. I could especially not wait to go to Friendly’s and buying a round to celebrate it with my friends.
