In Britain they have the biggest human DNA collection in the world, hidden beneath a brick and glass building. The collection contains over 1 million samples, and the goal is to collect over three times as much. Some people are against this system, but the most of Britain seems like they do not care. If you have not done anything illegal, then you should not worry about it. But there is a risk that your sample matches a criminal’s for example. This happened in 1995 where a guy called Raymond Easton gave a sample after an accident he had. Some years later he became prime suspect. 4 years later a newer and better system cleaned him. This is one of the bad things with DNA says Robert Forrest, because there is always a change for an error even with this new system. Today you can gather samples from a fingerprint with only 50 cells. But with new technology in range, 1 cell might even be enough. But if you find stray hair from a cigarette on the crime scene from a guy, who is already in the DNA-database, then of course he will be considered as a suspect. A good question is that ‘who will have the access to the DNA information in the future’. You can see on a person’s DNA if he has red hair or black hair. And maybe in the near future you would be able to see how the persons behavior, or if the persons have any diseases or health problems. And maybe in the future, the police want to know about your height or skin color.
