I sat at home watching television and waiting for the results for the lottery. The numbers rolled down the screen. The only thing I was waiting for was my number, then came the host on the screen and said “the winner of one million pound is the person who got number 72-44-85-00… I looked at my ticket. It was my ticket!! I was totally confused, and I did not know what to do. Couldn’t believe it, a completely surreal situation.
What was the first thing you did, when you got the news?
The first thing I was able to do, was to call my parents. My mother thought I was joking, but I did
not. Of course it was not a joke – who want’s to lie to your parents? She was very happy on my behalf, my dad in the background also congratulated me with the pay out. When they realised that is was true, they shouted out loud. They said “we’re coming” and they did.
What have you done with your money?
The most are credited to an account, in the bank. Of course I bought some new stuff for my apartment. Like a new television and I got renovated the kitchen. When I found a girlfriend, I considered buying a house. Last but not least, I bought a new car. I love cars, and now I had the money to buy a new, so that’s what I did.
