The Scottish Castle: En familiehistorie

John Briggs lives in The Scottish Castle. He lives there with his family, and they have lived there since John and his wife Jill inherited the castle from Johns parents. They simply got too old, and couldn’t take care of the old castle anymore.John also grew up in the same castle with his parents and his older sister Jenna. While he was still a kid he really loved the Scottish castle. There were all kinds of places to explore both inside and outside. He had a dog named Jeo, which he always ran around on adventures with. But as he got older he had had enough of the castle. He just thought that the whole building was a piece of garbage that could collapse any day, so he moved out at the age of 20. But luckily he changed his mind about the old castle, and later moved in with Jill before they got kids.The members of the family are John - the husband / father of the family, Jill - the wife / mother of the family, Joe - the oldest son, Jimmy – The youngest son and last but not least Jean – the only sister, she is also the youngest.The Briggs family has always loved living in the house. Whenever their family and friends would visit, they would say that it was a beautiful building, and enjoy their stay there. Once, in the middle of the night, when Johns parents were visiting, Johns mother said she heard someone crying somewhere in the castle. It couldn’t have been any of the family members, because they were all asleep in their beds. The next day Johns mother told the whole family about her incident the night before. Everybody laughed, and the only one not laughing was Johns mother. Ever since then, Johns mother has been afraid of walking around in the halls alone. There was this other time when something else interesting happened. It was a normal day, and nothing was out of the ordinary. Jill was washing some clothes and John was dusting off some furniture. Then suddenly John heard some noises from the hallway. It sounded a bit like when Jill used to walk around in high heels. But she didn’t really do it that often, and when she did it would usually be for a special occasion. John thought to himself: “That’s odd. If that is Jill she must’ve gained quite a few pounds since she last wore her heels. Besides, why would she even be wearing her high heels right now?” John decided that it could not have been Jill, so he walked out in the hallway and he saw something he thought he would never see inside the old Scottish castle. He saw A HORSE. A horse. It was just standing there, looking a little confused. John was so surprised that he didn’t know what to do. So he just started laughing. It bursted out, loudly. He literally rolled around on the floor, laughing. Jill ran up from the basement where she was still washing clothes. She thought that John had gone mad, laughing like that, but when she too saw the horse, she knew the reason. Her reaction was a bit different from his. She was more shocked. The kids came too and they all had a big laugh. Later it turned out that the horse actually lived next door on the farm, and it had gotten out of its enclosure.
