Nominate a torchbearer

Now that we are slowly approaching the London 2012 Olympics, I write this so that you can see a true hero that would be the perfect candidate for Danish Torchbearer. I would like to nominate my Danish daughter Tracy Owen Matthews, a 15 year old former professional gymnast, who has her heart in the Olympics and lives and breathes for the opportunity to stand in the Olympics arena some day. This chance was given to her by birth, cause this little girl has always been a natural and has her mind set to getting better. She has worked and trained every single day from when she began at 4 until 13 when she was sadly diagnosed with bone cancer in her right leg. She has fought just as hard against the disease as she did on the mats every day for 9 years. This girl has for the past year struggled, and fortunately she does not have cancer anymore, but it did cost her, her hair and her leg from the knee down. While battling with her own sickness she has found time and resources to help other kids in her place too, kids with the same problems as those she went threw. As you can imagine it has been very hard to see her watch her own dream and years of hard work slowly disappear. Even though this has been the toughest 11 months she has had to go through, she has kept her head high and used her own pain to help others. I have worked with Tracy to create a organization for people who have lost their dreams for good, just like herself. She has worked with this organization for about 1 to 2 hours every day, which is all the free time she has after her daily relaxation and rehabilitation schedule and school. Tracy is just an all around great person and is the best I could think of for the Torchbearer position.
