Tale om global fattigdom og sult

Dear listeners, on behalf of my class I want to thank you for this opportunity to talk to you. I have chosen to talk about poverty.

Poverty is a thing many people live in. They don’t have money to buy food, so they can get something to eat.

Parents don’t have money to send their kids to school, because they have to buy food. That means that the kids don’t get an education, and later on they maybe can’t get a job.

Actually 21000 people die every day, that’s 1 person every 4 seconds, dies because they can’t effort to buy food. It is the children who die most often.

There is plenty of food in the world to feed all people on the earth. The problem is that poor people are trapped in severe poverty. They don’t have the money to buy food that they become weaker and often sick, because they don’t get the proteins and vitamins, and then it is harder to have a job, which makes them even poorer and hungrier. It’s an evil spiral.

There are effective programs to break this spiral. For adults, there are “food for work” programs where the adults are paid with food to build schools, make roads, and so on. It is a good thing because the people get food, and at the same time they build things that could maybe help them out poverty.
