Kriminalitet og vold: Analyse af ungdomskriminalitet

Crime/ViolenceCrime can be many things from stealing to murder. Murder is one of the worst crimes, because you are taking another person’s life, and once they are dead you can walk around the rest of your life and think about that you have taken the life of another person.In the story “Only the good die young” we are hearing about Yummy, whose mom was crack addicted and his father was in prison. And those two things are maybe two of the reasons to his behavior and because he didn’t get enough attention and love from his parents. When he was 3 years old he was taken away from his parents and was placed with his grandma.Yummy joined a local gang called “Black Disciples” They got him to do all the dirty work, because the police couldn’t punish him. Maybe he joined the gang because he got nothing to do, and maybe because the lack of attention his parents was given him. I think that is the reason some boys joins gangs today, so the story can relate to reality.In the movie “Tsotsi” We are following Tsotsi who is a young man. His mom died when he was a kid and his dad drank a lot of alcohol, so he ran away and lived with other homeless children. He didn’t get enough love like Yummy, and again like Yummy he joins a gang. He started stealing and murder other people with his 3 from the gang. One day he stole a car with a baby inside and shot the woman, he didn’t know what to do with the baby but he took the baby with him. He tried to take care of the baby and got some strong feelings. In the end, he gives the baby back to the mother who survived. He started crying when he should give it back.In the start of the film Tsotsi was cold and didn’t have any feelings but after he got the baby and people around him showed feelings he also got a lot more feelings.In the story “School shootings” We are hearing about Dylan Bennet Klebold who was a normal boy who liked video games, movies and being together with other friends. But one day he went crazy, he killed a lot of people at his school with guns and bombs. But in this history it wasn’t because his parents were giving him a bad childhood. He was just planning it all even though he was a normal teenager.I think crime is a stupid thing and should stop, but crime is hard to stop because there will always be some people who is doing something bad. But if you see the things from “Tsotsi” perspective he got nothing to do and got no home, so he need to get money to live for. But he still have a choice to stop doing all the crime.
