If I were to nominate a person I know to take part in the Danish Torch Relay, I would certainly nominate my mother “Audrey Nakapizye”. I would nominate her because I think that she deserves a moment to shine. My mother is a loving, caring and most generous person I know. She always does the right things at the right time, and is always there if somebody needs her. My mum is an incredible person and she is also my idol. It is due to her courage and enthusiasm that am flourishing today.
When I was only two years old my parents divorced, I don`t know how or why they did it; but my dad left us for another woman. Suddenly my mother became a single mom, with two children in her care. The first years as a single mother were the toughest, because she was unemployed and that meant, she could not provide the basic needs for my sister and I, for example food, school equipment’s, clothes etc.
Nevertheless my mother never gave up on us, she battled for what she believed was right, and that was better living conditions for her little family and those around her. After many years of struggling and sorrow, she finally got a job, as a secretary at one of the leading oil companies in Denmark.
