The Olympic flame has a big influence on the Olympic games. The Olympic flame was lighted for the first time in Amsterdam in 1928. But the tradition actually started way before in the old Greek for more the 2000 years ago. The Torch Relay brings all the world nations together throughout the symbolic fire. The fire is commonly carried by athletes in all kinds of ways on foot, in a wheelchair, on bicycle, by boat and many other ways. The torch always has to be lighted in Greece in the town Olympia. Because the Olympic flame has such a big importance and therefor its not everyone that can become a Torchbearer.
