This aim of this task have been to examine the main reasons that there was to the civil rights struggle of the 1960’s, how was the situation and everyday life, which problems were faced, in the black population, and the means and targets have been put into use in the fight for civil rights among black Americans? Has the situation changed for African Americans today? To answer these questions, I have based on the speeches "I have a dream" by Martin Luther King, "The Ballot or the Bullet" by Malcolm X and the novel "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. In response, I have availed myself of rhetorical analysis and illuminate the historical periods during the struggle for civil rights. After using these methods, was the final conclusion that, although there has come civil rights to black people, is there still a great power politics and racism is still widespread. Despite the struggle for civil rights in the United States were implemented, there is still racism and it will always be less. The media has for many years been good to exhibit the black people, but has now finally changed sides, and shows how wrong it is, what is going on at this time.
