Ed Shearer wrote the short story ” Please Leave the Door Open” in 1967. He was in a very hard situation. But no matter what the situation is, you just have to find a way, to handle the situation correctly. You can’t live in a family without problems. You can’t live with a person and never fight over anything. So of course a relationship between a father and his son, shouldn’t be any different and of course there are some troubles. It’s normal and in some kind of a weird way, it’s also healthy to.

A man named Mr. Hamilton is in a tough situation with his son, Gary Berman.Roger, Kip and Gary Berman are the three sons of Mr Hamilton and of course he loves them all three. But Mr. Hamilton is kind of worries about Gary, because he have done some problems with the neighbours. As we can see, Mr Hamilton is the main character here and you can really feel the love for his boys and how much hejust hates seeing them feeling so sad and miserable. Hamilton wants to talk to Gary about the whole situation but Gary is a little bit nervous about it, also because his relationship to his father, isn’t quiet the best at all. He thinks that now when his father wants to talk to him about something like this, he’s going to get upset, disappointed and so mad at him. But Hamilton didn’t say much, he only told Gary to stay away from the neighbours and that he never will see him do such things again and that was is. “ Stay away from that part of the neighbourhood, and don`t let me ever hear of you damaging a bicycle or any other personal property” - Lines 141-144, page 3
