Andre Agassi´s “open” is an autobiography of his life as a famous tennis player. Agassi wright importance to his childhood and the people that has played a big part in his upbringing. We meet his raging father, his reluctant mother, his mean grandmother, his patient uncle and a bunch of animals. He gives us the story of how tennis became a big part of his life and how his upbringing has brought him to where he is today. The biography was published in 2009 and written by Andre Agassi himself.
Most people have tried to do things for the sole reason to make a person close to you happy. It gives you a good feeling in the first place, but then you can not stop thinking of something else than you actually do not want to do this. Family and People close to you have a big impact on your decisions in life, and sometimes it can take over and it can have a big impact. This is clearly evident in this autobiography and what Andre Agassi wants to open with his autobiography from 2009. It is about how the protagonist Andre Agassi has a big dilemma with his father and about how he wants to live his dream like tennis player through his son. Autobiography of Andre Agassi is about relationships between generations, and if nature finds its way forward, as an independent person. He is talking about a lot of different relationships then his family, and if he pushed up growth. At first he talks about his father's relationship with his mother, that is, Agassi's grandmother. Agassi tells that his grandmother "[...] was put to earth to harass my father" (L.10-11) and he also says that "she makes my father miserable, she manages me and my siblings around , and she engages in a strange competition with my mother. " (L. 30-33). The relationship between grandmother and the rest of the family is rather intense when the grandmother has been a bad mother to Agassi's father and has pressed him like his father presses Agassi. When he had done something bad, "[...] she made him carry traditional girl clothes to school." (L.14-15). The father's own enormous hard childhood has a clear influence on his upbringing of his own son, and therefore the father Agassi pushes so Hard.
