“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get”
More than anything this statement is true to Forrest Gump; War Hero, Football Hero, Ping Pong Master, Millionaire, Great time runner and loving father. All of these descriptions fit to Forrest Gump who, by most standards, lived an extraordinary life. First we see his meeting with the love of his life and mother of child. The film then goes on to tell the tale his accidental experiences with some of the most important people in America from the late 1950s through the 1970s including a meeting with Elvis Presley, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, fighting in Vietnam, etc. However, while all these special kind of things happen to him, the story always goes back to focus on Jenny, the love of his life and mother of his child. Even though he has accomplished all these things in his life, he (and us) feel that his greatest accomplishment is when he finally gets to marry Jenny. Even though I, and maybe other viewers, think that Forrest is way too good for Jenny, we are still very happy when they finally marry. I feel that Jenny is kind of harsh on Forrest; Every time she is in trouble she runs to him for help, and she even waited years to tell him of his son, of course Forrest was running for about the first 2 years of his sons life, but can you blame the guy? All in all I think that Forrest is an inspiration to all of us. And that’s all I have to say about that.
