Mark was exploring London, looking at all the attractions, the cafes and also the markets, he especially liked those in the streets of Soho. He liked to be a tourist in a city he never have been to, it was fun. Suddenly his phone rang. It was his mum calling from his hometown Glasgow. ‘Hi Mark, guess what?’ He could hear her excitement in her voice when she broke the news. He could hardly believe it. It couldn’t be true. He pinched his arm. It was true. He couldn’t help himself; he jumped for joy.
He made it, he finally made it. ‘I’m in yes!’ he said to himself. The fantastic good news was that he had been accepted into the University of Oxford, one of the best universities in the world.
Mark had dreamt about this day since he was a little boy, he had always said ‘When I grow up I’m gonna be a professor at Oxford’ and that’s a dream come true this day today. Now he is going to study scientific subjects. After finishing talking to his mum, he continued his journey through London still jumping in joy. People stopped and asked him why he was so happy, Mark just screamed out: I’m going to Oxford!’ People cheered and gave him thumbs up and all that good stuff! Mark had never been so happy in his life before, it was beautiful! After Mark had calmed down a little, he wanted to go to his favorite restaurant in Soho to celebrate. It was a little classy hipster café in the outskirts of Soho, they served the best coffee in England there, Mark thought.
