Researchers are finding that exercise not only keeps you fit, but also makes you smarter. Debye Turner Bell reports, that a school in Illinois has developed a program that gets students moving and learning. Students are working out, but not only to be heathier. They are actually trying to adjust their brain chemistry to maximize their ability to learn. Dr. John Raty is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and author of Spark, a book about how our brain changes when we exercise. He says that exercise helps the brain cells stay alive and live longer, but it also helps the learning process. The gym teacher Paoul Zientarski runs a learning readiness program at Navoral Central High School in Illinois. The program started and responds to research, showing a link between exercise and increase brain function. Paoul think the problem seems resolved, and he is agree with the fact that, working out makes you smarter. This high school has embrace the idea that working out helps a child learn, and you find exercise equipment in some classrooms. Whatever, the students rather working out while there are learning than sat down. It also helps them memorize and remember better. In fact, more and more schools introduce the idea and try to help the students to be more engage in the classes.
