The 44th and the current president of United States is Barack Hussein Obama. Barack H. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 5th August 1961. His parents, a white woman from Kansas in the USA and a black man from Kenya, had met each other as students, but got divorced when Barack H. Obama was 3 years old. He was a community organizer, civil-rights lawyer and teacher before pursuing a political career. Obama is happily married to Michelle Obama, and has two kids. Barack H. Obama belongs to the Democratic Party, and has been president of USA twice. He is actually the first president that has been chosen twice after World War II. The first time Barack H. Obama received the title as president was in 2008 and for the second time in November 2012 and Obama is definitely famous for being the first Afro-American president in USA. A really historical event happened when Barack H. Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October 9, 2009. Obama got the peace prize for his efforts in trying to strengthen democracy and the international cooperation. Obama has created a new climate in international diplomacy where dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments. But the most important question is, why is it important for a country like USA that an Afro-American man is president? And what has it meant for a multicultural country, that Obama has created a new climate where dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments? Many Afro-American citizens as well as citizens from different ethnic backgrounds have for years felt themselves oppressed and not accepted. They have felt differently and lived in racist environment. This changed when Nelson Mandela entered into force and fought against racism. He created equality between Afro-American people and white people. Since Obama became president, it was yet another victory for Afro-American and citizens with a different ethnic background. What makes Obama special? Is it because he has some fun pages? Or does he remind about all other presidents? The funny things about Obama are his hobbies. Obama collects on Spiderman cards and Conan the Barbarian cartoons, he has read all Harry Potter books and can bench press 90 kg. And the best part of his hobbies is that Obama does not hide it but shows that he is like everybody else. Obama does not remind about other earlier presidents, like George Walker Bush. George Walker Bush was very strict and direct about the wars and terror, whereas Obama is more objective and soft about the wars and terror. He listens to his fellow citizens and takes objective decisions. The reasons that make Obama special is that he has written a book named: “The Audacity of Hope. The book contains Barack H. Obama’s very personal thoughts about central topics like family, religion, race, values and USA’s role in the world. In the book there are expressed his political vision for a better USA based on a new policy, where the whole nation gathers. But why is this important? It is important because all these things are interesting to know about him. The way that he looks at religion, races and values, are really nice and objective. This makes interest for many people out side, to learn more about him and his life.
