While Barack Obama lived at his grandparents he studied at the esteemed Punahou Academy on hawaii and graduated with academic honors. As one of only 3 black students, Obama became conscious to racism and what it meant to be an African-American. After Punahou academy, Barack Obama went to Los Angeles to study at Occidental College for two years, but transferred to Columbia University in New York where he graduated with a political science degree.

in 1985 Barack obama moved to chicago's south side, there he worked as a community leader for low income residents for a few years

Then, with Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, he created a website to track all federal spending.
