Hello, Christian! I just went home, finished my first week at the new high school, which is called ‘Bold High School’. So I thought I would tell you a bit about it all. The first day was a bit scary, everything was so new and different. People knew, that I was new so they really took care of me, and that made me feel a bit more comfortable. I already got many new friends, but it is still a bit weird not to be home where everyone knows everyone. It also made me a bit emotional the first days. But this is my home now, and it is gonna be good. In our breaks, we just sit in groups and talk. Which is a bit difficult sometimes because of the noise. There is so many people together at the same place. Normally I would think that if many people are assembled, it all would be a big mess but it is not. Here is it very clean, and I does not feel like I am walking around in a ton of litter. That was actually one of the first things my mom asked about when I got home the first day, “how is the environment?”. And she could definitely calm down. Beside my old school, people are very different to each other here. There is those football guys, who thinks they are really cool and owns it all. Then there is their girlfriends, and all together they are a bunch of drama queens. But hey, it is okay, it amuses us all. besides that, they does not hurt anyone so everything is fine. Something I honestly did not think would be so big in reality, is the american football games, which I mentioned before. Wednesday, my currently closest friends Heavenly, Ruby and Ron took me to the homecoming game. I have never seen something so entertaining like that before! The atmosphere was simply amazing. When you stand there in middle of it all, you can feel the happiness and adrenaline among people. I can not wait until the next homecoming game, or at least just the next game. I am so excited about it all. And after, Heavenly, Ruby, Ron and I went out and ate a pizza. It was so big that we could not eat it all, at all. So we gave it to a pair of people who were homeless. Yet another good feeling. My new life over here is so great, that it nearly feels unrealistic. Isn’t it weird that environments and cultures can be so different, that someone like me can be so happily surprised? I think things like that, is what makes our world beyond words amazing. Hope everything goes well! Tell the others home I said hi and that I miss them all very much. Kind regards, Sofie.
