Skribentens beskrivelse af DiskussionSleep is one of the most important things for a human - if not the most important. But what happens when we sleep and why is it so important? The sleep phase is divided into about 4 stages. First stage is also called the light sleep. In this stage you are between being awake and falling asleep. The second stage is where the sleep really starts. In this stage you are getting released from the surroundings, and your body temperature drops. The third stage is called the deep sleep. In this stage your breathing becomes slower, muscles are relaxed - in short, your body becomes more relaxed. But not the entire body is relaxed, because the brain is working really hard. The brain is doing a lot of things, but the main one is moving memories from short-term storage into long-term storage. You properly think that the deep sleep lasts for a long time, but it only lasts for a few hours. The last stage is called REM sleep, which is a shortening of the word ?rapid eye movement?. In this stage you can?t move, but your brain is dealing with all your emotions. There are many reasons why it is important to sleep.Lignende opgaver |
