I chose this topic because I find terror groups and terror in general, very interesting. Therefore, I thought it would be fun and exciting to do a presentation about something that I’m interested in.

The IRA

1917 – Irish volunteer group – militant members

Nationalists group

1921 – won independence (peace treaty)

1922 – new IRA – protestant unionists

1968-1998 (the troubles) – 3600 killed – 5000 injured

What are they known for

Attacks, Sinn Fein

Today

- Still exist - 2007 – 7 bombings
