Dette er en engelsk terminsprøve som om man var i USA og gå i skole og så skulle man skrive et brev hjem til sin lærer om hvordan det gik.

Dear English Teacher As you know I recently moved to USA with my family because my dad got a job offer in Las Vegas. I am past the first week on my new school, and everything turned out just fine. I have already gotten a few friends and learned how the school system works. I would like to share my impressions about the school with you. My school is called Las Vegas High School. It is the oldest high school in Las Vegas, but it is a good school anyway. I like being here even though I miss my friends and family in Denmark. It is just like in the movies where everyone have got a locker and the canteen is the same too. There are different cliques which I was very surprised by. I actually didn’t thought that mean girls, geeks and football guys were so separated like they are here. All those cliques scared me the first day, but luckily I wasn’t the only new girl on the school so I sat with a few other girls that was just as nervous and scared as I was. In the end my first day turned out being okay and people were nice and helped me find the right classrooms when I was totally lost in the hallway. Every morning everyone has their first period at 8:30. The first day at the new school I started out with three math periods. That was a rough start because I absolutely hate math.. And when you can’t figure math out in Danish, then it isn’t easier in English. The day did fortunately end with three P.E periods. As you can hear the timetable is very different from those in Denmark. In Denmark the timetable is more vary, but on my new school we often have three of the same periods the same day right after each other which I actually doesn’t like. It can get a little boring sometimes. I also learn Spanish here. It is difficult but I like to learn new things so I try my best. Design Technology is also new but it is different and you don’t have to look in a book all the time. I like that! Our school day is a little bit longer than in Denmark. The school ends at 15:15 and after that we can go to a club, that is something they do a lot here. It is optional but the most students does it and it is actually nice and you get to know new people. The club ends at 16:30 and then you are allowed to do what ever you want. I hope you enjoyed this letter! Best regards Caroline
