A Day of Exporation

I was really looking forward to something very different and new. I had the maps and my own personal ‘survival' kit – lots of chocolate and a drink and, of course, my phone to record my new discoveries. I was slowly pushing myself up the big rocky mountain, my hands getting very sweaty, because of the glistening sun that was on the middle of the sky. The mountain had always been very near me (basically in my backyard), but I had never had the guts to climb to the top. It was so exiting, even tough my hands had hurt really bad. The mountain had a very stony and sharp surface, and it was cutting my hands. I started to see the top of the mountain, I had at least climbed for 2 hours straight! I pulled myself up on the top and looked around. The ?rst thing I saw was a small tree with lots of small colorful parrots sitting in it. I slowly walked over to the tree, trying my best not to startle them. But to my luck I had stepped on a stick. At exactly the same moment all the parrots began to ?y all around me. Just like a big colorful blur. This was absolutely amazing. I never even knew parrots lived here. I hurried taking my phone out and recorded it before it ended. They slowly settled down on the tree again, and I started to walk further away. Looking around as I walked, I found a little, almost see through, lake. I sat down at the edge of the lake and took my water out. I was really thirsty. While drinking I noticed a small motion in the water. A little silver ?sh appeared at the surface, in the sun it’s scales looked like a shiny rainbow. I took my phone out of my rucksack, and snapped a picture. Looking at the clock I decided it was time to start setting my tent up. About 6pm I was ?nally done, It took about 1 hour. I ate some food and decided to call it a night. As I laid there I started to think about what I had discovered. I thought about the rocky surface on the way up. I thought about the ?ying colorful parrots. And I thought about the beautiful rainbow ?sh. This was de?antly one of the best days I had ever experienced. But my all time favorite discovery was that there lived parrots on top of the mountain. I had expected to see a sandy surface, kind of like a desert, but instead I found parrots and a beautiful lake.
