Holiday blog: Experiences from South Africa

Hi there. I’m gonna to write an update for you, so you can see what i’m doing on my holiday here in South Africa. I am currently sitting in my hotel room by myself. It’s very hot outside. 40 ? C. Okay, I want to share my experiences so far. The most exciting place I’ve been so far was when I was visiting a national park, with all those wild animals. I couldn’t believe it. It was cool to see them in their natural habitat. In addition, of course in real life and not only in TV. I was quite surprised that the population of South Africa puts a major effort into fighting poachers. Especially those ones, who kills innocent elephants in the exchange for ivory. In addition, to see that all the different species of animals were living together without harming each other in any way. I mean like when I saw lions and giraffes drinking from the same water pond.

I have also been to the apartheid museum. Like any other historical events, it was interesting to be there. I saw pictures of white men who was beating a black man, simply because he was black. I was on a “tour” in the museum along with five more tourists. We talked about how forgiven we take the freedom we have today. No, I mean think of I south Africa still was like the 1930’s Germany. That would not be a nice place. However, thanks to Nelson Mandela, we have a freer nation today, than we had 20 or 30 ago. I actually met a very nice man I got along with very well. His name was [NAVN A]. Together, we decided that after we were done, we would go out and play some soccer with the locals.
