Is being sent far away to go to school to get a good education a good idea? What are the challenges and the benefits?
Well one of the challenges of getting sent far away to go to school, may be that not all of the students are mature enough to live on their own. They could do a lot of immature things such as drinking on weekdays, to begin smoking, even worse begin to do drugs, start partying irresponsible and don’t even getting punished for doing it. Witch won’t stop them from doing it and then they’ll keep doing it. One of my friends from back home, was on a boarding school in Jutland. He got in to a very bad entourage were they were doing drugs and just doing all the things you weren’t not allowed to do. Now he’s been expelled from the school and from home too.
Some of the benefits of getting sent away is that you’ll realize what life is expecting from you and you can prepare and get to know what to do when you’ll move out. I know from my own experience that it’s hard not to live at home from time to time, but I’ve also learned to know myself a lot better. I now know that I can’t cook, I can’t wash clothes or do the diches. But what I’ve learned from moving to Skovbo Efterskole is that I love being social with people and love to be the boss of my life. But the fact of being far away from home is very hard from time to time. I don’t see my family and friends as usual and I think that’s one of the biggest challenges of being sent away.
