That it was a special film and that it was made in a different way than other films.

Do you prefer independent movies such as Elephant to mainstream cinema? Why/Why not?

I don´t have a preference, but I like independent movies because the movies usually are more relatable and is more down to earth.

With witch character did you most identify? Why?

To be honest I did not identify with any of the characters in the film and I didn’t think you really got to know them that good, but the one I identify the most with is Elias, the guy with the camera, because he was very down to earth and didn’t have a big role in the movie.

How do you think Van Sant kept the film realistic?

By having the camera follow the student in a walking like way. It was a bit shaky at sometimes and it was following every person at a different speed depending on the persons walking speed.

What do you think is the purpose of some moments being repeated from different angles in the film (e.g. John and Elias taking photos in the corridor)?

To show how things happened from the other character’s perspective. And to show that every situation happens different to every person depending on the person’s mood and what happened right before.
