Coming out brev til forældre

By the time you read this, I will have told you that I’m gay, and to be completely honest, I really can’t predict how you are going to react, I just hope deep down in my heart that you my parents will support me and still love me the same way, I’ll still be the same boy as you brought to life, I just like men instead of women. See the thing is that I’ve known for a while now that I was gay, I just couldn’t get the courage to you that I’m gay, I’ve been struggling getting sleep, all because of one simple thing, every day I am processing through my head “how are they going to respond” “are they never going to love me the same way that they did before I told them” “should I just keep it a secret”. Then one day I say to myself “why keep this a secret” “they need to see me as who I really am”.

I love you Mom and Dad, I feel safe and comfortable, I just can’t live with the feeling that you don’t know that I like guys. And why is being gay such a big problem there is nothing different from being gay or straight, gay people should be able to have all the same rights as a normal couple. Like I said at the beginning, I’m coming out and there is not anything you can do about it, and If you for some reason don’t accept it well then, I’m afraid to say that you can’t make me love a woman. You are after all my parents and you will most likely agree with me being gay, if that is the case well then, I’m going to have to say that, I am proud to say that I’m your son, and you could never be replaced by anything.
