I hope this letter finds you in the best of health. How are things going for you and Elgiva? I hope you all are doing good. Fine and short intro
I’m doing fine here, everyone is kind and everything is going as planned. They showed me the place, and a guy called Dak walked me around. I have to say that I was really surprised. The prisons here are designed in a weird way, there are with no gates and only four warders! These four warders have time for gardening as well! I know what you’re thinking now, doesn’t sound like a prison, does it? Well the thing is that the authorities here deal with all the crimes here with reason and discussion rather than punishment,That goes for all crimes except for the political ones. These are dealt with in barbaric ways! While walking around I got to see a political prisoner. She was humiliated in a way that no one would like to see. She was put in a small cage with bad conditions and repeatedly smashed with a hammer when disobeying. While I was passing by her cage, she spat on me, I don’t think she knew who I am. Surprisingly, I wasn’t angry at all, I thought that what she did was totally understandable, I felt like I deserved it in a way. The warder then came, and started smashing her cage with a hammer. Her screaming for help is still keeping me from sleep. What’s even worse is that when a political crime is committed, the whole family gets punished, even the children! This just doesn’t make sense for me.
