Første skoledag i USA

This week went by so fast. I have now been in the USA for a week and it has been the best week ever. I met new friends and got to see how the school system works here and I must say that I was very surprised by how friendly and kind people are, I was really scared that people weren’t going to accept me. I was also a scared that I wasn’t going to like the school system because I am so used to the Danish one, but it really worked out well. I have learned a lot of new stuff since I have been here and now I would like to tell you about my first day of school in the USA.

So, on Monday the school started at 8.30 like all the other days. I was at the school at 8.00 so that I had time to look around and maybe meet some people. I got there and took a look around the school on my own and then when I felt was done and It was time to go to class, I saw was a girl standing in a doorway, she looked nice, so I walked over to her, she said “hi” and I said, “hello my name is [NAVN A], I am new here”, she answered, “nice to meet you my name is Maddison” I asked her if she could show me where room 243 was. She was going there herself so she said “of course” and then we walked over to the classroom together. We had a math from the 1st to the 3rd period with one 15-minute break between the 2nd and the 3rd period, this was of course very surprising when I first saw he timetable because in my school in Denmark, we are 1st of all not used to having hour long periods, we usually have 40 minutes. 2nd of all we don’t have 3 hours of the same subject right after one another. But I really liked this way of learning, because you could really concentrate on the subject without the time interrupting you.
