On my first day as a high-school exchange student in Arizona, my host family treated me to an
extra-special American breakfast. As I ate, my host mom gave me some final pieces of good
advice on how to behave and what to be aware of in my life as a new American student.
I was on the bus at 7.30am, I was so nervous and excited to meet my new classmates. I had so many thoughts, but already on the bus, there were a sweet girl with the name Caroline. She told me that she was also a new high-school student, she started a week ago.
The bus stopped at the high school, and Caroline showed me around and found a teacher there who could show me my class.
When she showed me the classroom, I quickly found out that Caroline and I should go into the same class. That made me feel a little more comfortable. Before the class started, Caroline introduced me to her friends in the class. They were all so nice to me.
The clock was 11.30am and the day was going so fast, we already have a break now, Caroline and the other students asked me to go with them down to the cafeteria.
