This paper examines the inequality in the world and how mathematics can be used to show the message of the movie "Flatland" (2007) by Dano Johnson and Jeffrey Travis. The animated movie contains good examples of the structure of society and how hierarchy can control the country. The paper contains an account of constructions of mathematical figures and a short comparison of a circle and a ball. Furthermore, an analysis of the movie "Flatland" is made, in which the environment and symbolism are combined. Finally, the points are combined in order to discuss how mathematics is used to arrange the message of the movie, why the movie is relevant today, and why anyone would create a movie in 2007 based on a book from 1884. In the light of the above-mentioned account, analysis, and discussion, it is fair to conclude that "Flatland" is an extraordinary and well thought about movie, made by authors who manage to portray their chosen society and hierarchy in a way that is both true and representative of the present time. A time, where inequality should be reduced and where focus should not be on how to reject people but on how to illuminate social problems in a general matter. Exactly like the movie, Flatland does.
