Dear Parents magazine My name is ...and I am ... years old. I am writing to you about the questions you asked about in your magazine. My parents and I do not argue that much, but sometimes we do and when we do it is often about the fact that I am spending too much money. I think that the relationship between teenagers and their parents depends on where in the world you live, and who your parents are. The typical relationship between parents and their teenagers is very normal. I think that all kids no matter what age they are argue with their parents. When you become a teenager there are of course lots of things that change, for example they begin to drink alcohol and talk about lots of things, that you wouldn't talk about when you were younger. I think that if the relationship between the teenagers and the parents should be better, then the parents need to let go of their teenagers and not see them as kids anymore. They need to start looking at them as grown ups. They need to let them try more than they have tried when they were kids. They need to let them drink alcohol more and more the older the teenagers get, so the teenagers are ready for the world that waits for them. They also need to talk to them and treat them like adults. For example they need to talk with them about the things that are coming. The parents are not the only ones who need to change. The teenagers also need to change. They need to be more open about what they are doing in their free time. I know from my own experience that it is not very often teens do that, but when they do their parents begin to trust them more and more. The teenagers also need to come home a little bit earlier. There is no reason to be out so late. When the teenagers come home earlier, it will give parents more time with them. This will also make them closer and better “friends”.
