I understand from the text you sent me, that you only hear about family relations from the parents point of view. But from my perspective it really depends on the type of family you are a part of. Most teenagers takes distance from their parents, but when it comes to me i keep it very open compared to some of my friends. My parents got divorced a few years back, I only see that as an improvement in my relationship with both of them. They are still great friends and talk every day, which I think is way more suitable for them than being partners. It helped to relief a lot of the conflicts going on in my family. When I for example get in a discussion with my dad about something, it helps that I can go to my mother and talk the things out. In that way she could help me get another point of perspective, than if she was still with my dad.
My relationship with my parents has gotten way better over the years and I think that’s very normal for people my age. When I became a teenager I began to connect with my parents a lot more, and we got a lot of things to talk about, but I also began to increase the anger towards them. Sometimes they annoy me and I hate them from time to time, but deep down I will always love them.
