With the ongoing technological evolution, it’s easier than ever before to get in touch with each other, and to acquire and share information. Although that might sound like a positive thing, a lot of the individuals of this generation uses the social media as a platform to spread private information about other people. That’s the way cyberbullying spreads all over the internet.
I can definitely relate to that, because for as long as I can remember, bullying has always been a major issue. It’s something that has always been talked about a lot, but for some reason, we never really tend to do anything about it.
I have never thought of social media as a problem that I’ve had, but when I look back, I realize that I might have been incorrect.
Cellphones, internet and social media has come to stay. Therefore, the type of bullying that’s most expanded is cyberbullying. It’s easier than ever before to smear someone in an anonymous way. That’s especially due to the different social media such as Facebook, ask.fm, Instagram, twitter and so on.
In the society we live in today, it’s tough to fight bullying, especially when it occurs trough social media. That’s the result of, that no one has the courage to stand up for each other, because they fear what’s going to happen with themselves. We are afraid of, that if we stand up, we’ll get bullied ourselves, and no one wants that. Therefore it’s hard to change the current behavior on the social media. If no one have the guts to make a change, there won’t be one.
