I’m sitting here by my desk, writing this e-mail to you just after returning from the UK. I’m very grateful for the tickets you gave me, and I can assure you they’ve been put to good use. I chose to go to the E3 gaming exhibition, which I don’t regret a single bit. I had an amazing time with my friend Sam, that I brought along with me. Among other things, there was a lot of exciting stuff, like a bunch of exciting game, reveals and a big LAN-party. Many of the games announced there were small rather unknown games, but there were some big ones too, like Battlefield 4, Red Dead Redemption and many more.
The most exciting part though was the reveal of Forza Horizon 4, which is an open world car game where you drive around doing missions and races with your friends. The worst thing is that there are six months until it’s available in the stores, at least then I’ve something to look forward to.
After the game reveals on Friday, which by the way took more than 7 hours, I and Sam went out to explore the big space where E3 was hosted. They had rented an enormous building just outside of Birmingham, with enough space for more than 20.000 people! Many of the bigger gaming companies also had stands there, where they displayed their new cool tech. The most exciting thing though was this company called Oculus, who have developed a pair of Virtual Reality goggle called Oculus Rift. I was allowed to try a pair, it felt really weird being in this virtual world, were your hands and arms move synchronously to your real ones. They also had a few games specifically developed for this headset, that I could try. I tried a game, where you stood with a gun in your hand, and then had to shoot zombies coming at you, it was very realistic which made it extremely overwhelming.
