I chose this topic because I have always been interested in the psychological part of terrorism. Well understood that terrorism is a horrifying and inhumane act, I still think that it’s interesting to read interviews and articles about their point of view. I also think that it’s interesting to hear about their methods, plans and tactics to achieve power. Digging deeper into terrorism, you will find the leaders, and one of them is Osama bin laden. I chose to talk about Bin Laden because I think it fascinating to see how his death effected the world, in both positive and negative aspects.

Who is he?

Osama bin Mohammed bin Awed bin Laden was born the 10, march. 1957 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, and was killed, by U.S forces, the 2. May 2011 in the city of Abbottabad in Pakistan. Bin Laden came from a wealthy and religious family. He was educated in economy and administration and inherited about 15 million dollars, after his father passed away.

In 1980 he took part in the afghan-soviet war, as a guerilla fighter. The afghan-soviet war was a guerilla warfare which is a smaller political war. The war was between the soviet supporting government in Afghanistan and several Islamic rebel groups. When the war was about to end, both bin laden and Abdullah Azzam wasn’t happy with the outcome, so to keep the global war for Islam going, they started the organization called al-Qaeda. When Bin Laden was teenager, he joined an ultra-conservative fundamentalist Muslim sect called Wahhabi. Wahhabi was users of the term jihad which is a war against unbelievers.
