This essay is about the explosion in Oklahoma, the lives it affected. This text has the purpose of making the Oklahoma Bombing easy to understand, and to give a resume and understanding of how the investigators managed to catch the perpetrators.
168 people. That’s the number of people who died in the terrible explosion on the 19th of April in 1995.
9:03. That's the time of when this single explosion affected the lives of thousand citizens of the city of Oklahoma.
The bomb that had this impact on so many lives, was a homemade bomb, made by two men named Timothy McVeigh and Terry Lynn Nichols. The bomb was a concoction of agricultural fertilizer, a lot of very dangerous chemicals such as ammonium Nitrate, and fuel oil. The bomb was planted in a truck parked on the north side of the building.
The target was a building, called the Alfred. P Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Even though this was the target, the bomb managed to make a blast so big it damaged 300 additional buildings.
This was surprising and not to be expected in a city like Oklahoma, especially since this at the time was the most destructive terrorist act on American soil until the 9/11 attacks.
