Lockerbie bombing

On december 21. 1988, a Pan flight was on its way from frankfurt in germany to New york and it was destroyed by a bomb. The bomb was carried onto the plane in a suitcase stored in the plane’s hold. After the plane was destroyed by the bomb the remains of it landed around a town called Lockerbie in southwest scotland. 270 people from 21 different countries died, including 11 people on the ground in Lockerbie. The people on the ground died because of the planes fuel-laden wing section exploded in a fireball. Libya was accused of planning the attack.
