When Nelson Mandela was released from jail after 27 years

It was in 1990 on Monday the 11th of February. A historic day from the whole world. 27 years was passing, and then it was time for Nelson Mandela to become a free man. In 1965 he was sentenced to imprisonment. And during the 27 years, he got a lot of work like penalties. Nelson Mandela was a freedom fighter, and he fought for black people’s rights. He fought against the apartheid regime. The apartheid was when people were divided by their race and forced to live separate lives. Black people could not do the same things as white people, such as going to certain places or voting. He was the man who dared to fought against the rules. He is what you could call a symbol of global peacemaking. It was very emotional to stand to surround all the surroundings Nelson Mandela lived under the 27 years. In particular when was so unfair, and he just deserved honesty from al people. But when he came out, it was earnest time to pay tribute to him. Wow, it was a very special experience to be present when he got released from jail! I don’t think many people have an experience like what I experienced that day on the island. At the jail, on “Robben Island”, there were many special people permit. The present president, previous presidents, a lot of other freedom fighters. And at last but not least a lot of black people, and when I say a lot I mean so many black people. In his time in jail, he became the world’s most famous prisoner. So all people were on Robben Island to pay tribute to him and show all respect for him. It was a happy man we saw came out in liberty. All the people on the Island were lucky people. But it was also very tearful. When I stood among all the people I get talking to a very special man called James. He had a very especially relationship with Nelson Mandela. James and Nelson grew up in the same territory. Once they were best friends. James related me that Nelson Mandela always fought for freedom and her rights, and he wants everyone the best. I got deeply affected by his stories about Nelson Mandela. All the people left the island like lucky people. Prayers were said and people sang in honor for him, for freedom and for equality.
