Task 3: Translate from Danish to English

Brian Aldiss’ novel is about a young woman whose husband is almost always at work. She appears to feel rather isolated, despite living in an overpopulated world which seems a little bit ironic. The woman does not feel closely connected to their son. It turns out that there is something special about the boy which is a plausible explanation for why the mother has trouble attaching to him. Whether the story has a happy ending or not is uncertain.
