Why you should try Couchsurfing

I ve just gotten back from my trip to London and it s been one of the best experiences of my life! Even though I was financially lacking, I was able to find an amazing place to stay thanks to the CouchSurfing website! London is an incredible city, full of culture, sights, shopping, and great food. As I mentioned before, I was short on money before my trip I wasn t sure if I would be able to pay for new clothing and food, while also having to rent a hotel room but that s where the CouchSurfing site really pulled through. I had a place to stay, at zero cost! And not only that, the family living there were experts on the place! They were true Londoners that had been living in London for generations, so it was like having a tour guide that knew all the great places to eat and go shopping. E.g. there was this well-hidden highend fashion market in the outskirts of the main shopping area in London, that was filled to the brim with amazing pieces of clothing, that you just can t find where I live without purchasing from foreign countries. They also recommended a café called The Breakfast Club that they served the best brunch I ve ever had Some people might see it as a negative, having to live with other people, but it's very nice to have someone keep you company while you re exploring a city you ve never been to My hosts had a delight showing me the old parts of London, telling me about the old history of London tower, Big Ben, and London bridge. Thanks to them having lived there their entire lives, they also knew when the peak hours were. At 13 o'clock, almost everyone had lunch breaks, but in London, people don t eat at the cafeterias that their workplace offers to them, instead, they go to local cafes and restaurants, which means the streets are flooded at those times. Later, at 16 o'clock when they all get off from work, every pub, bar, and restaurant is filled with people in business suits drinking beer and having a great time. My hosts also told me when there were the least people on the streets, I was looking to buy clothes from the Palace Skateboards store on brewer St., but because of large queues, you could wait up to 3 hours just to get in the store, I came at the right time, and only had to wait 20 minutes to get in and buy clothing. I really liked the culture they had in London, people are very nice to each other, and it sounds very pleasant to go eat at cafés and have a drink at pubs with each other every day. My host family also made wonderful dinner, and it looked like they had as great a time living in London as I had. Even though it looked stressing at rush hours, they seemed very laid back while living in a big city with thousands of people per square kilometer. They made my experience as good as it can get and I don t think that would ve been possible, had I chosen to stay at a hotel all by myself.
