Jane: ‘’ Dear priest I feel so confused and angry all the time and therefore I don’t know how to do things right. In short both my parents are so miserable and selfish they are mainly concerned about themselves. I feel constantly misunderstood and we get into an argument almost every night. I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong?’’
Priest: ‘’ Oh Jane, I don’t believe you are doing anything wrong moreover it’s your parent’s responsibility to make you feel loved. You are in the process of developing your own personality like most teenagers are, and it is quite normal to feel confused. It’s perfectly fine to feel angry and experience that life is though sometimes. As a teenager it’s normal that you start realizing that your parents aren’t all that perfect as you thought they were when you were a child. Try to tell your parent’s how you really feel, and I am sure that they will understand. You have to be honest and tell them how selfish you think they are and that you perceive it as they don’t prioritize you.’’
Jane: ‘Okay I will try to tell them the truth, but I really feel like they wouldn’t care. Everyone is just so stupid especially my friend Angela. She’s so much better than me at everything especially at getting guy’s attention. The only person I really like is Lester, my neighbor. With him I can actually be myself and I adore his confidence. ‘’
